A presentation regarding the tree circle was not on the Commission agenda for the Sept. 16, 2025 meeting. During public comment on non-agendaed items two members of NEST spoke about the proposed tree circle and handed the Commission a sheet of paper. Nothing was shown or given to the public in attendance and the public had no opportunity to express its opinions. The City parks belong to all residents.
I have photographic evidence of wife carrying track, volleyball players and car shows in that exact area.
Maybe there’s still room the adjust the race route. Looks like there’s still room for volleyball nets just west of the circle.
I hope that these trees are not in the path of the Midnight Sun Wife Carrying Contest racetrack- if they are rip them OUT!
They are NOT! It’s in a little used corner of the Park, vetted by Leisure Services as such.
