Renovated Gulfstream Hotel aims for early 2026 opening
'It's a very complicated project, but we will get there,’ owner says about construction challenges at the downtown Lake Worth Beach site.

Walk by the historic Gulfstream Hotel these days, and it’s impossible to miss the sights and sounds of progress.
Workers in window openings install new glass in hurricane-proof frames. Rooms are being framed with new drywall. A rooftop swimming pool has been poured.
It’s all part of a $134 million renovation and expansion of the historic 6-story hotel, shuttered since 2005, at 1 Lake Ave. on the east end of downtown Lake Worth Beach.
The highly-anticipated first phase, a renovated 1925 hotel with 90 rooms and a Marriott Bonvoy brand, is supposed to open next year. Exactly when will depend on the pace of contractors, suppliers and permitting agencies like the Florida Department of Transportation.
