On Yom Kippur, antisemitic graffiti defaces Lake Worth Beach pharmacy

A few hours after the start of Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year, vulgar antisemitic graffiti was painted on the side of a drug store at a prominent Lake Worth Beach intersection.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a suspect who was captured in action by a security camera at the Walgreens at 10th Avenue North and Dixie Highway just after 10:20 p.m. on Oct. 1, 2025.
Deputies said the person is responsible for at least five graffiti incidents around Lake Worth Beach since September, all of which included the word “Kirk” spray painted on business signs and fences.
In more recent incidents, PBSO said, the suspect also tagged disturbing messages, including two painted on the Walgreens after 10 p.m. last night :
“Kirk tous les gens souffrie” (French for “Kirk all people suffer”)
“Orthodox Jews circumcision are done by mouth”
By 10 a.m. Thursday, a store manager and employee started covering the graffiti with white paper. A paint crew was expected later in the day to paint over it.
City Commissioner Chris McVoy helped the two employees cover the antisemitic graffiti, painted in black on the south side of the building facing the 10th Avenue North at the Dixie Highway traffic light.
“It’s very discouraging that people in the community or people outside of the community are expressing intolerance and hatred for different groups,’’ said McVoy, who left a meeting at a nearby restaurant to inspect the graffiti after hearing about the vandalism.
“It’s especially hurtful on Yom Kippur to have antisemitic messages,’’ he said.
The drug store has been tagged with graffiti at least eight times this year with an “L,” employees said. The defacing that appeared Wednesday night was the first with an antisemitic message.
Several motorists and patrons entering Walgreens on Oct. 2 shook their heads in disgust when they saw the graffiti.
Deputies described the suspects as a white male with a thin build who consistently wears a baseball cap.
