No hotels at the Lake Worth Beach beachfront, commissioners say, but voters will consider other changes
City commissioners agreed to put four charter change questions on the ballot, possibly as early as March.
Lake Worth Beach city commissioners agreed late last night to let voters consider four charter changes, presumably at the March 2026 election.
During a six-hour meeting that ended at 12:15 a.m. today, commissioners rejected a ballot question asking voters to consider allowing hotels at the beach, a move that kills the Copperline Partners unsolicited Horizon proposal.
“This appears to be the death knell of the Horizon project,’’ Copperline CEO Richard Schlesinger said in a brief written statement released to the Lake Worth Beach Independent.
