The future of the Horizon proposal to build Hyatt hotels at Lake Worth Beach’s public beachfront and golf course could be decided Monday at a special City Commission meeting.

The multimillion-dollar redevelopment plan is not on the agenda. It has never been formally discussed by city commissioners since it was submitted in January by Copperline Partners, a private investment group that includes golf legend Jack Nicklaus and Fortress Investment.

But the unsolicited proposal’s future hinges on whether commissioners decide Monday night to ask voters to consider allowing longer-term leases on city-owned land at the beach and downtown.
