I can't s peak to the stringent code enforcements, but I do know that we purchased a winter home in LWB because of what I would call the "funky" feel to the town. . I explain to my friends that we live in the Greenwich Village of Palm Beach County. We think that's a good thing; and hope it remains that way... Remember this the next opportunity you have to VOTE! The only Commissioner that had something to say about this issue was McVoy. What do the rest of them have to say about this? I guess they are too busy plotting to build new instead of preserving what we already have.
In fairness, McVoy's was the only comment from the March 17 meeting that I used in the story. Other commissioners all had something to say in general on the proposed ordinance. You can watch it on YouTube.
Same continuing bad: LWB code enforcement, building dept, and majority of current town council are like a Nazi gestapo force. Their goal or aesthetic seems to be to sanitize and blandify LWB L-Dub. I think they are fearful of art, creativity, artistic expression because they don't have any and want to dominate and control it. This is cultural genocide for our community.
The same mindset that installed the Disney-esque Neighborhood name signs and seek the Delrayification of ElDub will grind this little drinking town with a beach problem down to the most benign vanilla Stepford money can buy.
Code enforcement in Lake Worth Beach is out of control. They seem to think their job is to put everyone out of business and to cost homeowners as much as possible for BS complaints and made up code problems.

Isn't McVoy the only one who voted no on the 99 year lease issue though?
McVoy was the lone commissioner who voted against putting the lease questions on the March 10 ballot.
