Complaints about 'nitpicking' code compliance prompt Lake Worth Beach to consider reforms

RELIEF MAY BE coming for Lake Worth Beach business owners and residents fed up with the city’s code compliance policies. Responding to growing complaints, city commissioners said they plan to consider code changes and review allegations of overzealous enforcement.
“Why are we doing this? Who is initiating stuff that doesn’t seem like it’s really necessary or very important,’’ Commissioner Chris McVoy said April 7. “We look very business unfriendly. ‘What’s the matter with these people? Why are they going after silly stuff?’’’
