Casting call: 'Body Heat' extras wanted for fundraiser at Lake Worth Playhouse

Were you in town for the making of the 1981 classic? The Historical Society of Lake Worth Beach needs your help as it plans a special screening March 5.

The Historical Society of Lake Worth Beach is putting out a casting call for anyone who was in town back in 1981 for the filming of the movie “Body Heat.”

Did you or your friends audition to be extras?

Did you rub elbows on Lake Avenue with actor William Hurt or see him during a break sipping wine at the French restaurant L’Anjou (Now Pomona)?

Did you watch Ted Danson inside the fictional diner (now the law offices of Gonzalez & Cartwright) across the street from City Hall?

The historical society wants to hear from you!

The society is co-hosting a fundraiser at the Lake Worth Playhouse on March 5 at 7 p.m. “Body Heat” will be shown, following a pre-screening panel discussion about the classic film’s many connections to downtown L-Dub.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 on the night of the screening. Proceeds will benefit the historical society.

Planning for the event is underway now, and organizers want to hear from folks who played extras and witnessed the film crew in action.
